Pendleton Cottage a division of the Oregon Health Authorityhas a fantastic opportunity for a MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST 2 to join an excellent teamworking to help people recover from their illness and return to their lives in the community.
What you will do!
The Mental Health Therapist 2 under the supervision of professional staff participates in the development and implementation of individual treatment plans that supports the Recovery Model in the State Delivered Secure Residential Treatment Facility serving high risk/high profile individuals currently residing at Pendleton Cottage. Duties include development of group lesson plans case management for assigned caseload group and individual therapies socialization skills facilitating daily program schedule as well as responsibility for maintaining the safety and security of residents and staff.

Pendleton Cottage is responsible for treatment of individuals with mental illness who do not need a hospital level of care. These individuals are placed in Pendleton Cottage primarily through conditional release from the Psychiatric Security Review Board (PSRB) and remain under their jurisdiction. Other residents may be placed in Pendleton Cottage through civil commitment or guardian commitment from Oregon State Hospital. Pendleton Cottage is a Secure Residential Treatment Facility whose mission statement is: To act with a recovery focus to increase positive life experiences self-confidence and community integration.
What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
Three years of experience working with people with mental emotional or behavioral illness or histories or physically impaired clients.
An Associates or a Bachelors degree in social science (such as social work human services psychology child development gerontology health or health education) may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
Desired Attributes:
Experience working in the mental health field.
Strong leadership skills
Experience in teaching classes or groups
Ability to manage stressful situations.
Possess basic computer skills and be willing to learn new technologies as they are introduced into the workplace.
Must be able to work more than 8 hours in a day and/or 40 hours in a week as required.
Additional Requirements of the MHT2 position:
If you are offered employment the offer will be contingent upon the outcome of an abuse check criminal records check and driving records check and the information shall be shared with the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) Office of Human Resources (OHR). Any criminal or founded abuse history will be reviewed and could result in the withdrawal of the offer or termination of employment.
Candidates who are offered employment at the Oregon State Hospital must satisfactorily pass a pre-employment drug test.
QMHA certification required within 30 days of hire.
Shift: Monday-Friday 1:00pm-9:30pm
Days Off: Sat/Sun

The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying the salary range will reflect the additional 6.95%. Review the Classification and Compensation page for more details on the classification.
