Job Description
The role of UI/UX designers is central to improving accessibility usability and responsiveness of the HHSC eligibility systems. Key responsibilities include:Lead user research initiatives and journey mapping to gain deep insights into user interactions and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Proven UX Design Experience: Extensive portfolio demonstrating expertise in user research information architecture wireframing prototyping (low and high-fidelity) and usability testing.
- Develop wireframes prototypes and visual hierarchies in accordance with established accessibility guidelines and branding standards.
- Collaborate with Code for America and cross-functional teams to apply industry best practices in UI/UX design.
- Engage in discovery workshops feedback sessions and sprint planning to ensure that design decisions are aligned with business objectives.
- Employ a comprehensive suite of tools-including Figma Adobe XD Sketch and Hotjar-and implement usability testing responsive design and SEO optimization strategies.
- Experience with AI/ML Interfaces: Demonstrated experience designing user interfaces for systems that incorporate Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning with a focus on explainable AI (XAI) and human-AI interaction principles.
- Complex System Design: Ability to understand and design for complex business logic and regulatory requirements particularly in domains like government services healthcare or finance.
- Data Visualization: Skill in presenting complex data and AI insights in a clear concise and understandable visual format.
- Empathy and User Advocacy: Deep commitment to understanding user needs and advocating for user-centered design principles.
- Collaboration & Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present design solutions to stakeholders.
- Understanding of Accessibility Standards: Knowledge of WCAG and other accessibility guidelines to ensure inclusive design.
- Bonus: Experience with eligibility determination systems or similar rule-based data-intensive applications.
