Thales in the Czech Republic employs over 400 people from 45 different nationalities. A total of 15 teams work on projects for government agencies banking mobile services and the Internet Of Things (IoT) technology. At the core of our business is the development of software which we configure and embed in a multitude of different devices and form factors. These include many kinds of payment cards SIM cards travel passes secure eBanking devices authentication tokens machine identification modules (MIM) and secure ID documents including ePassports eID and eHealth cards as well as eDriving licenses. Because of the international environment surrounding us every day it comes as no surprise that English is our official corporate language.

In Thales Prague there are more than 400 out of the total of 80000 Thales employees and you will find us in the Business Park at Brumlovka. Compared to the other branches we focus on more than one field. A total of 15 teams consisting of 43 different nationalities work on projects for government agencies banking Telco. Because of the international environment surrounding us every day it comes as no surprise that English is our official corporate language.

As a Java Cloud Software Engineer you will work closely with colleagues and customers to gather requirements design develop and implement integrated software and systems solutions in the Cloud OTA product vertical team.

A week in the life of a Java Cloud Software Engineer:

- You will develop enhance and support features of Cloud OTA product.

- You will organize your activities using SAFe (Scale Agile Framework) Scrum and Agile methodologies.

- You will contribute to design and software architecture with innovative mindset.

- You will support to comply with software quality security standards and law regulation such as GDPR.

Knowledge and experience:

To succeed at this job you must have experience on following topics

Software using Java/EE particularly with micro-services
Spring Framework Spring Boot Quarkus
Docker images and Kubernetes orchestration
Rest API and swagger
SOAP API
CI/CD (GitLab Sonar Maven Nexus) for build deployment and test automation.
Databases such as Cassandra MySQL Oracle.
SAFe (Scale Agile Framework) together with Scrum and Agile.
Angular (plus)

Agile team mindset international experience remote communication with technical teams are also keys of success.

Some other skills would be big plus for taking the role:

Understanding of telecommunication use cases and OTA products
Smart cards
Cryptography (Symmetric and asymmetric PKI protocols )
Python
Software Testing (SOAP UI Robot Framework others). Test Strategy Test Plan Test Writing Test Execution Test Automation.
Work experience with JIRA / Confluence
