Carilion Clinic is accepting applications for a Board-Certified fellowship trained Radiologist to join the Department of Radiology in Roanoke VA as the Section Chief of Diagnostic Radiology. Responsibilities of the Roanoke based section chief include day-to-day management of the diagnostic Radiologists based in Roanoke including worklist balancing schedule management and problem-solving. Long term responsibilities include policy creation Radiologist recruitment/retention scorecard/KPI design capital equipment evaluation/selection and participation in the department wide leadership council.
This position has 20% protected non-clinical time to perform the responsibilities of the section chief position. Qualified candidates should have experience in team building mentoring worklist management change management and policy implementation. Clinical duties include interpretation of imaging studies within the candidates field of fellowship training as well as interpretation of general neuro/chest/body/msk radiograph/ultrasound/CT studies. Overnight shifts are covered by teleradiology evening shifts and weekend shifts are distributed evenly amongst the approximate 25 diagnostic Radiologists.
The Department of Radiology is composed of 33 Radiologists with fellowship training in all disciplines. All Radiologists based in Roanoke have academic appointments at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and light teaching responsibilities for medical students and non-radiology residents. Compensation is based on private practice benchmarks (potential for $600000.00) and includes bonus opportunities based on quality-based scorecard performance as well as clinical productivity.
