Job Description

Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic invites applications for the position of

0.5 FTE SECONDARY TEACHER

ST. JOSEPH-SCOLLARD HALL

0.5 FTE (Three Sections fully assigned in first semester)

Marketing: Goods Services and Events BMI3C

Entrepreneurship: The Venture BDI3C

Grade 10 Locally Developed Mathematics MAT2L

Effective immediately

Requirements:

  • Basic qualifications to teach in the Intermediate and Senior Divisions - Business
  • Honours degree and/or subject qualification(s) in the specified or related subject areas would be considered an asset
  • Sound knowledge of the programs and teaching experience in Mathematics and Business
  • Knowledge and experience in utilizing student learning management systems such as Google Classroom and D2L Brightspace as well as additional G-Suite digital tools EDSBY and CVO courses on the VLE to facilitate instruction and effective communication with parents
  • Demonstrated knowledge of how students learn effectively with a repertoire of proven instructional and assessment practices
  • Commitment to supporting the use of technology in instruction and learning and to promoting an environment of innovation and creativity that engages the 21st century learner
  • Commitment to ongoing professional learning and collaboration around the schools Student Achievement Plan through school-based PLCs department meetings co-planning and co-teaching
  • Knowledge experience and proven ability in utilizing differentiated instructional approaches within the classroom that support effective instruction
  • Ability to implement a shared vision consistent with the principles of Catholic education and integrating the Catholic Graduate Expectations within the curriculum
  • Flexibility to be assigned in other subject areas as the need arises
  • Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies
  • Willingness to actively assume extra-curricular duties
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with the school community
