Your New Role and Responsibilities
Were looking for a cross-skilled Infrastructure Operations Engineer with a passion for server platform and database systems to work as part of a team responsible for delivering reliable scalable and secure services to our government customer.
Youll be part of a cross-functional team supporting a range of services and components while also providing your expertise and learning to the wider team for your specialist skills. The environment is dynamic with a strong focus on resilience automation and service availability.

Key Responsibilities
Youll join a technically capable and cross-functional team that values open communication knowledge-sharing and continuous learning. Whether restoring services optimising workloads or implementing security baselines youll play a key role in delivering reliable and secure platforms. As well as this you will:
Manage and maintain server SOEs and deployed operating environments (Windows/Linux) including patching support and automation improvements.
Manage and configure hypervisors backup and storage solutions.
Help ensure system reliability and performance by responding to incidents and events conducting root cause analysis maintaining runbooks and providing escalation support.
Develop and maintain operational procedures and system configurations ensuring they meet compliance standards and supporting improvements through structured change management processes.
Implement and maintain security controls and monitoring profiles and work collaboratively across teams to drive automation and operational efficiencies.
Qualifications & Experience
Strong experience managing and supporting Windows and Linux environments virtualisation platforms and underlying infrastructure.
Familiarity with monitoring and eventing tools (VMware Splunk PRTG) and backup technologies such as Commvault.
Familiarity with cloud-based networking concepts and services particularly within platforms like Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team environment contributing to shared goals and supporting colleagues across various domains.
Demonstrated troubleshooting skills with a methodical approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining clear accurate documentation.
This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold or be able to obtain an NV1 level security clearance.
