Job Description

Job Summary:
The client is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Microwave Electronics Assembler to join their manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for soldering PCB assemblies and interconnects performing mechanical assembly and other related tasks as assigned. This position requires precision a steady hand and the ability to work with small parts using both hand tools and automated equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Mechanical Assembly:
o Assemble microwave electronic components using hand tools (e.g. screwdrivers fixtures) and automated tools (e.g. electric screwdrivers).
o Follow detailed assembly instructions processes and procedures to ensure product quality.
o Ensure all connections and assemblies are secure and meet specifications.
o Metric: Achieve a 98% accuracy rate in assembly tasks.

2. Soldering of PCB Assemblies and Interconnects:
o Perform soldering of PCB assemblies and interconnects using wire solder and a soldering iron.
o Ensure all solder joints are clean secure and meet quality standards.
o Metric: Achieve a 98% pass rate in solder joint inspections.

3. Soldering Using Pick and Place Equipment:
o Operate pick and place equipment stencils solder paste and reflow oven for soldering PCB assemblies.
o Ensure accurate placement and reflow of components.
o Metric: Maintain a 95% accuracy rate in catching and repairing errors prior to mechanical assembly

4. Regular Use of Microscope:
o Use a microscope for detailed soldering and inspection of small electronic components.
o Perform visual inspections to identify and correct defects.
o Metric: Identify and correct 95% of defects during microscope inspections.

5. Documentation:
o Maintain accurate records of assembly processes and any modifications made.
o Complete required documentation for each assembled product.
o Metric: Ensure 100% accuracy in documentation and reporting.

6. Other Tasks as Assigned:
o Assist with other manufacturing tasks and projects as needed.
o Maintain a clean and organized work area.
o Metric: Complete 100% of assigned tasks within the given deadlines.

Pay rate: $18-20/hr


Qualifications:
* Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical certification or associate degree in electronics or a related field is preferred.

* Experience: Two (2) years prior experience in soldering and electronics assembly is preferred.

* Certifications: Prior certification for soldering and electronics (such as IPC J-STD) is preferred (does not need to be current).

* Skills:
o Proficiency in soldering techniques and the use of soldering equipment.
o Ability to operate pick and place equipment stencils solder paste and reflow oven.
o Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
o Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions diagrams and schematics.
o Basic understanding of electronic components and circuitry.
o Ability to work under a microscope for extended periods.

Physical Requirements:
* Ability to sit or stand for long periods.
* Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to handle small parts.
* Ability to lift and move equipment up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:
* This position is based in a manufacturing environment which may include exposure to moderate noise levels and the use of various tools and equipment.
* Safety protocols and protective equipment must be used as required.
