Position Title: Shipper/Receiver
Department: StFX Store
Position Type:Permanent
Classification:NSGEU Band 4
Salary Range: $ (based o 37.5 hours/week)

Overview
This position receives all incoming inventory items including but not limited to text books general books clothing giftware and academic and office supplies. Receiving of these items includes: overseeing counting verifying pricing when receiving data entry into our POS inventory system and processing invoices for payments and credits for receipt-reconciliation of store credit card. This position is also responsible for shipping online orders. Negotiate shipping with vendors and suppliesequipment. The person in this position also participates in our Used Textbook Buyback in two ways: occasional work at front line registers buying books from students and shipping of all used books bought for two wholesalers to those wholesalers and shipping of no value books to other agencies. Occasional work at front store registers and other duties as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee counting newly received retail inventory
- Data entry of retail inventory paperwork and tracking including invoices chargebacks/returns and credits
Packing and shipping of retail inventory to internal and external customers
Preparation and or supervision of (counting packaging etc) and return of retail inventory to vendors and publishers
- Unloading boxes of retail inventory from shippers truck and transporting them to the store or alternate storage location
- Involvement in used textbook buyback by sending all bought books to used book vendors and occasional front line work at registers buying books from students.
Pricing and/or confirmation of pricing of retail inventory
Working customer service as required
Qualifications
- 1- 2 years of experience working in a university postal or shipping/receiving environment
- Experience with POS systems
- Knowledge of shipping processes couriers and/or Canada Post regulations would be an asset
- Comfortable with MS Office Suite proficiency in Outlook and Excel
- Must be able to work extended hours in a variety of physical environments (standing sitting bending) and able to lift 25-50lb
- Ability to operate a manual pallet jack and maneuver large often heavy orders would be an asset
- Excellent communication skills with an acute attention to detail
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work well unsupervised and with others in a cooperative and often fast-paced environment
