Job Description
The Logistics Clerk will provide administrative and clerical support to the traffic operations function of Batteries Plus. As a Logistics Clerk you would be responsible for all aspects of routing shipping logging and tracking of inbound and outbound orders. Duties would include contacting transporters for freight pick-up ensuring that cargo is routed appropriately communicating changes to routing and timelines and preparing and processing bills of lading. Responsibilities:
Transportation
- Work with the outbound teams across all three shifts to understand the daily shipping requirements and necessary trailers/drivers from each carrier to pick up all completed orders by the specific cutoff time per carrier
- Partner with associates in shipping inventory and outbound to correct quality issues including pallet stability weight issues shortships/overships
- Partner with order management to expedite orders perform special handling prepare international shipments and follow up with carriers stores and customers
- Coordinate and coach transportation team associates to accomplish the daily goals
- Complete dangerous goods documentation for orders domestic shipping manifests certificates or origin bills of lading etc
- Assist with printing needs (labels LPs) and help the receiving team as necessary to coordinate deliveries
- Audit documented processes and initiate revisions to document changes
Warehouse
- When necessary assist with general warehouse duties including receiving order fulfillment and shipping
- Follow all safety procedures and rules established in the facility while wearing proper PPE
- Keep all work areas clean and free of hazards. Report safety hazards or damaged products
- Actively participate in all safety and training programs
Qualifications:
- 1 year warehouse and/or shipping/transportation experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft products Google Suites and WMS
- Ability to recognize read and match alpha-numeric location codes box markings and product covers
- Ability to calculate simple math and read gauges
- Must be able to become forklift certified if applicable
