WHY THIS ROLE IS VALUABLE
We are looking for an ambitious Manager/Sr. Manager to join our Global Risk and Insurance team. The team member is responsible for identifying evaluating and analyzing builders risk construction surety and pollution risks inherent to the operations of the company and ultimately reducing the firms cost of risk. This person will be expected to identify and evaluate the risk exposures and to administer the respective insurance programs efficiently. They will track and review the insurance policies held by the company and affiliates and support renewal process annually.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the creation of robust Builders Risk Construction Pollution and Bond Insurance programs and allocations across multiple asset classes.
Create refine and implement processes around budgeting invoicing market updates and renewal communications
Understand and manage the modeling results provided by external partners
Develop strong effective working relationships with companys management and internal customers at each property to communicate property insurance standards
Establish yourself as the program resource and educate the Portfolio Companies on the various insurance coverages and risk mitigation opportunities.
Implement administer and monitor risk management techniques / strategies to efficiently and cost-effectively manage those risks.
Collect and manage exposure information for a large real estate portfolio spanning multiple asset classes through use of Risk Management Information System (RMIS).
Verifies development activity by collecting and organizing contracts policies and insurance certificates and comparing to appropriate contracts leases or agreements.
Assist Risk Management Transaction team with review of builders risk and construction policies and contracts for acquisitions actively under construction or immediately post construction.
Utilize the RMIS to develop meaningful reports across the various Portfolio Companies.
Effectively interact with companys risk team brokers RMIS vendors and insurers in communicating companys risk related goals and objectives.
Act as an in-house resource to educate advise and counsel company management property staff and business partners where necessary to reduce or transfer risks.
Coordinate issuance and distribution of Certificates of Insurance to company business partners with the broker. Evaluate and monitor incoming certificates to determine if they meet the appropriate contractual requirements and take needed action if not.
Review insurance binders invoices and policies for accuracy and manage the retention of policies schedules of insurance and other risk management documentation based on companys retention policy.
Participate in forums risk management educational programs and other educational opportunities to stay abreast of emerging issues affecting risks.
Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree in Risk Management Accounting (Computational/Quantitative) Finance Economics or related field required
Minimum 7 years overall risk experience specific experience with builders risk construction and insurance bonds is a requirement.
Experience with Pollution Liability is preferred but not required.
Demonstrable and current in-depth knowledge and understanding of various real estate sectors including the main products and services produced and processes used
First-class interpersonal skills including relationship building and maintenance
Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel
Excellent communication (verbal & written) numerical presentation & organizational skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced dynamic environment where superior time-management and prioritization skills are essential
Base Compensation Range:
$123684.00 To $181354.00. This represents the presently-anticipated low and high end of the Companys base compensation range for this position. Actual base compensation range may vary based on various factors including but not limited to location and experience.Total Direct Compensation: This job is also eligible for discretionary bonus and incentive compensation on an annual basis.
