Do you want to join a global leader in renewable energy infrastructure investments If so come and join Copenhagen Energy Islands (CEI) a part of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) focused on development of offshore energy hubs. We are currently looking for an Associate for the team in Copenhagen.
The Team & Position
Offshore energy hubs are next-generation energy infrastructure assets; a critical tool in integrating large scale offshore wind and power-to-x into energy systems globally to reach ambitious global decarbonization targets and to delivery cost-efficient deployment and integration of large-scale renewable energy. Energy hubs are energy infrastructure projects combining large-scale renewable energy production and power conversion technologies such as HVDC transmission or Power-to-X.
The Energy Island Investment Team is responsible for developing and structuring offshore energy hub projects. The pipeline currently includes 10 projects across the globe predominantly located in geographies with high offshore wind potential such as Europe Asia and North America.
As part of the team you will help conceptualize and develop energy hub projects that are both technically and financially viable. On a day-to-day basis this will involve making commercial and technical assessments of potential concept solutions participating in negotiations with key stakeholders and managing multiple workstreams and interfaces with external advisors.
The role is highly multifaceted involving exposure to a broad range of asset classes including offshore wind transmission Power-to-X energy storage and other technologies. You will work closely together with an investment team in a fast-moving dynamic environment.
Responsibilities will consist of but are not limited to:
Executing early-stage greenfield development of projects across various markets
Building relationships and engaging with commercial partners and various regulators and other government bodies
Preparing and participating in negotiations with key stakeholders and counterparties
Preparing a broad range of high-quality analyses including commercial regulatory and stakeholder analyses
Preparing and drafting presentations for internal decision makers and external stakeholders
Working closely with and managing external stakeholders (incl. legal financial and technical advisors) to develop and mature projects
Managing internal workstreams and coordinating effectively with colleagues
You
You are a motivated and structured professional holding a relevant masters degree (e.g. within Law Economics Finance Business Engineering or other related fields) with 2-5 years of work experience in an investment environment.
Key qualifications include:
Knowledge of financial products and investment processes across asset classes
Experienced business acumen and an understanding of corporate finance and accounting
Deal negotiation and transaction experience
Well-qualified academic professional
Ability to manage multiple on-going tasks and prioritize effectively in a goal-oriented environment
Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external partners
Experience with interacting/communicating with senior management
Proficient skills within PowerPoint and Excel
Advanced communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English
Preferably experience in renewable energy (preferably offshore wind) real estate or other infrastructure
