Job Description

The base salary for this position is dependent upon experience and location.

Location: Portland Oregon

Salary range: $78091.00 to $97614.00

Job Summary

The Estimator job will develop wind/solar capital and operating project cost estimates for Avangrid Renewables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support new development opportunities for future approved budgets and forecasts.
  • Review proposal specifications to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
  • Conduct project site visits with potential contractors and engineering firms.
  • Review cost reports from completed/existing projects.
  • Develop master capital and estimating models
  • Supports Avangrid Renewables business development through good working relationships with clients subcontractors vendors and co-workers to strengthen company position resolve issues solicit business and formulate estimates.
  • Participate in a team of project professionals on new projects regarding conceptual design and operations.
  • Develop cost estimates to support the analysis of potential contractors costs and project acquisitions.
  • Adhere to effective internal controls.

Required Qualifications

  • Education & Experience Required:
    • Bachelors Degree in Engineering related degree or equivalent combination of education & experience
    • 3-5 years experience as an Estimator or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience in plant construction production or operations.
    • Knowledge of budget preparation implementation and oversight
    • Demonstrated experience with advanced model development
  • Skills/Abilities:
    • Can read and understand engineering drawings purchase orders contracts WBS/CBS cost coding systems
    • 10%-20% travel required
    • Ability to foster and participate in a productive team environment by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers managers customers contractors and vendors
    • Ability to analyze project risks understand project scope and proactively identify solutions with a flexible creative and solution-focused outlook on problem solving
    • Maintains effectiveness during procedural/organizational changes and when dealing with varying personality styles and tasks
    • Effectively provides and receives information orally in individual and group situations
    • Written expression is clear concise and conveys the desired message
    • Ability to navigate and succeed in a highly matrixed reporting structure preferably at an international company.
