Job Summary:
This position is for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in a tertiary care hospitals medical-surgical unit. The LPN will provide nursing care under the supervision of an RN managing their own patient assignments. The role requires experience in hospital settings and involves direct patient care medication administration and collaboration with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care including assessments and treatments under the supervision of an RN.
- Manage assigned patient load independently.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Document patient care accurately and completely.
- Participate in patient care planning and implementation.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
- Comply with all hospital policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current LPN license in New York.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent hospital experience (within the last 2 years).
- Ability to manage own patient assignments with RN support.
- Current BLS certification (Basic Life Support).
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience in emergency or critical care.
- Proficiency with ventilators tracheostomies and PICC lines.
- More than 2 years of direct patient care experience.
Special Considerations:
- Every other weekend requirement.
- 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week.
- Tertiary care hospital setting (528 beds).
- Charting using Epic.
Scheduling:
- Three 12-hour night shifts per week.
- Every other weekend rotation.
