Job Description
- Location: San Antonio TX (Local candidates only)
- Industry: Not specified but related to banking/financial services (as per context)
- Pay Rate: $65/hr (C2C)
- Start Date: Estimated 3-5 weeks from offer
- Visa Requirement: Must be able to convert without sponsorship
- Education: Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field OR equivalent experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Work extensively in a Teradata RDBMS environment (minimum 6 years experience required)
- Monitor and maintain Teradata systems (user access workload security backup/recovery)
- Create develop and maintain databases and DDL objects (tables views macros etc.)
- Manage user and application access layers
- Research and provide support for users application developers and data engineers
- Establish and support change management for data warehouse environments
- Identify and resolve complex issues; design solutions for large systems
- Direct and synthesize coding efforts for a team of software/data engineers
- Lead and mentor a technical team
- Stay current with market trends cloud-native databases and development methodologies
- Implement secure modern database application frameworks
- Apply data warehouse/data platform best practices and programming procedures
- Work collaboratively in Agile teams and participate in CI/CD processes
- Enable automation and promote data literacy within the user community
Must-Have Skills:
- Extensive Teradata RDBMS experience
- Agile methodology experience
- Informatica (ETL tool) experience
- API experience
- Mainframe experience
Preferred Skills:
- Experience managing cloud databases and data workloads (especially Azure/Teradata Vantage Cloud)
- Experience with Informatica PowerCenter or IDMC
- Python programming skills
- Teradata TDP on mainframe
- Experience with cloud data platforms
