The Basics
Giant Swarm is a leading open-source infrastructure management platform used by modern enterprises worldwide. We empower developers to ship great products by providing a robust and user-friendly Kubernetes platform.
Your Job
Package cloud-native tools for the Giant Swarm App Platform using Helm.
Build improve and test Kubernetes controllers written in Go.
Collaborate with App Engineers to improve the stability security and performance of these tools.
Write and execute automated tests to ensure the quality of our offerings.
Improve operations through dashboards alerts and logging. Automate updates and improve usability.
Write technical documentation to enable seamless customer adoption.
Explore and experiment with new technologies and contribute to open-source projects.

Requirements
Prior experience with container-based workloads (Kubernetes Docker etc.)
Experience with open-source contributions is a plus.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python Go or a similar programming language.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Collaboration: Ability to work independently and effectively within a remote team.
Location: Based in Germany and currently enrolled as a student. Students enrolled elsewhere will also be considered.
Preferably you will still have 12 months left enrolled at university.

Continuous learning is important to us - we foster this through bi-yearly personal development talks a budget for training/certifications/coaching as well as regular feedback talks and workshops. Our teams are cross- functional and collaboration is key.
Nothing crazy but useful Basics: We currently operate on a 32 hour workweek (or 4 day workweek you decide!). We dont count holidays but set a minimum number; You choose your own hard- and software; As a company that has almost if not more kids than employees family-friendliness is crucial to us and paid parental leave is a no-brainer; We pay monthly perks that cover your costs for working remotely; We meet twice a year as an entire company and (if possible) see conferences as an important place to catch up with team members; We aim to be fully transparent (finance salaries) unless it hurts people and trust you based on this to make the best decisions
