Position Responsibilities:
Design develop and test our most demanding cross-functional networking projects. Functionally decompose complex problems into simple straightforward solutions and have a deep understanding of system inter-dependencies and limitations. Key responsibilities include researching and benchmarking Amazon technology against competing systems contributing intellectual property through patents and mentoring others on advanced technical issues. Assist in career development guiding team members growth and help managers navigate their teams career trajectory.
Position Requirements:
Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent degree in Engineering Technology or a related field and six years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept eight years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation as equivalent to the Bachelors degree and six years of experience. Must have four years of experience in the following skills: 1) working with interior and exterior IP routing protocols technologies and platforms in a large scale data center LAN or WAN network environment; 2) developing engineering deployment or operations mechanisms to support IP network or networking systems; 3) responding to customer impacting events including mitigating and performing root cause analysis of those events; and 4) automation via Bash or shell scripting and Perl or Python programming.
