Seeking a highly motivated medical assistant to assist nurse practitioners and registered nurses in providing medical care to the student body at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. Responsibilities include administrative lab and clinical tasks such as maintaining patient records preparing patients and rooms for examination assisting providers with exams performing appropriate lab collection and processing and front-desk tasks. Commitment to a flexible work schedule which may include some evenings and/or weekends. Anticipated working hours include 7:45am-4:30pm Monday through Friday during the academic calendar with reduced hours during scheduled academic breaks and summer. The FTE for this position is 0.9.
Escorts patients to various hospital locations and delivers orders and inventories general clinic supplies
Performs routine vital signs basic tests assists with minor procedures and administers medications as directed by a supervising clinician
Performs administrative duties such as scheduling appointments maintaining medical records assisting patients with billing and coding information and answering basic medical questions
Other duties as assigned
Collects prepares and delivers specimens for laboratory analysis
Prepares and cleans examination rooms instruments and equipment for specific procedures

Starting at $20.00/hr commersurate with experience
High school diploma or GED
Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 1 month of hire
Completion of an accredited or approved medical assistant program
2 years of experience as a medical assistant in ambulatory primary care urgent care womens health and/or with young adult population
Demonstrated ability to function well in a team-based environment
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel internet electronic mail and electronic medical record software
Experience with or proficient in public speaking
Minimum Degree Required:High school diploma or GED
Preferred Degree:Completion of an accredited or approved medical assistant program
