Leadership: Develops and executes short- and long-term data strategy aligned with the Supreme Courts mission. Directs the operations of the Office of Data and Analytics; establishes departmental standards objectives and goals.
Data Governance and Innovation: Serves as the Courts lead advisor on data governance and analytics. Establishes best practices in data curation privacy security and quality assurance. Leads initiatives to treat data as a strategic asset. Explores innovative technologies including generative AI and predictive analytics to modernize court operations.
Operational Support: Oversees cross-functional collaboration between judicial leadership administrative collaborators and justice partners. Delivers actionable insights to Supreme Court leaders and local courts to improve performance and resource allocation. Provides dashboards and tools to monitor case backlogs docket activity and judicial productivity.
Advanced Analytics and Research: Designs and delivers analytic solutions supporting case flow management judicial performance caseload forecasting and more. Leads efforts in statistical modeling performance evaluation and policy analysis for internal and external stakeholders. Oversees ad hoc and longitudinal research studies.
Judicial Operations Support: Analyzes and evaluates proposals related to court structure and judicial resource allocation. Collaborates with Case Management to support courts with operational reviews and dashboard reporting. Manages oversight of JCIS (Judge and Court Information System) functionality and data integrity.
Curriculum Training and Advising: Develops and leads training on statistical methods court performance measurement and data-informed operations. Provides subject matter expertise to boards commissions advisory groups and task forces. Establishes and disseminates best practices standards and resources to elevate statistical literacy and court data quality.
Integration: Partners with the Office of Information Technology to enhance data systems repositories and visualization tools. Leads data needs assessments and coordinate implementation priorities. Evaluates software platforms and recommend tools to improve efficiency and reporting capabilities.
Policy and Public Engagement: Provide data-driven recommendations to inform legislative proposals and structural reforms. Develops infographics dashboards and reports. Serves as a liaison to external data consumers including media researchers and the public communicating complex data in accessible formats. Supports Court initiatives with timely contextualized data to elevate transparency and trust.

The Supreme Court of Ohio is seeking to fill the position of Director Data and Analytics. This position will lead the Supreme Court of Ohios efforts to transform data into a strategic asset in support of judicial administration policy development and public engagement. This role will direct the Office of Data Analytics and oversee the development governance analysis and dissemination of data assets vital to the fair and effective administration of justice throughout Ohios judicial system.
What were looking for:
Bachelors degree preferably in statistics mathematics or a related field. A graduate degree in statistics mathematics or a related field is preferred. Demonstrated ability to provide expertise and leadership in a related field typically acquired through seven (7) to ten (10) or more years of progressive professional experience. Previous supervisory experience preferred.

This is an exempt unclassified position reporting to the Deputy Administrative Director Legal Services. The salary range for this position which is commensurate with experience is $140000.00 - $151000.00.
