Class Summary
- This is a part-time position with a maximum of 1508 hours per year and is not eligible for paid holidays leave or benefits.Job Description
This Recreation Leader position will be providingon-site educational programming (as well as mobile kitchen programming at summer camps senior centers afterschools etc.) and technical assistance to youth and adults while providing a safe learning environment for participants. The incumbent will be organizing priorities andhandling multiple projects simultaneously and interacting with participants of all ages and staff in a positive manner.This position requires a flexible schedule to include weekend and evenings.
Essential Duties- Assisting with leading community outreach and garden volunteer workdays
- Maintaining crops at all sites
- Completing administrative tasks such as processing gardener application payments
- Facilitating educational programs with youth adults and seniors (10 to 25 participants)
- Driving a large box truck and van
- Leading educational programs in front of 10 to 25 people of various age groups (adults seniors youth)
- Attending outreach events to promote upcoming programs and educating the public about the mission of Live Healthy Gwinnett
- This job requires fingerprinting.
Salary will be $16.80.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or GED
- Valid drivers license
- Associate or bachelors degree in Horticulture Agricultural Science Environmental Science Exercise Science or a related fieldAND
- 1 year of classroom/childcare supervisory experience
