Enterprise Marketing andCommunications is seeking to hire a Video Producer.

As VCUs integrated communications and marketing office theDivision of Enterprise Marketing and Communications thrives on collaborationand our work we reflect the culture of the university and thehealth system community. We leverage the power of our institutional knowledgeto deliver results foster an equitable and supportive work environment toempower our talent and work hard to tell impactful stories about VCU and VCUHealth.

This position reports to the Manager of Video Production andsupports the strategicgoals of theenterprise and responsibilities of the division through the creation ofinnovative video stories.

Create/produce engagingmemorable video stories that align with and promote the strategic priorities ofthe VCU Health enterprise and strengthen and protect the VCU Health brand.

Collaborateregularly with the service line marketing leaders the public relations team andas needed with the AVP of VCU Health Strategy and Marketing to identify storieswith strong video potential and determine the optimal way to produce them.

Once videostories are identified work independently or with the rest of the video teamto complete the production - which may involve managing the project from startto finish with guidance from the director.

During allphases of production explore novel approaches/techniques to ensure theproductions unique and memorable.

Produce agrowing library of Physician Provider Biography videos.

Assist withproductions involving senior leadership and ensure attire and presentation areprofessional and appropriate.

Assist videomanager with developing the annual video budget and making purchasing decisions.

Serve asresource liaison with outsourced video production companies as needed.

Create motiongraphics and animations to enhance visual storytelling. Collaborate regularlywith the Brand and Design Manager for design consistency and coordinate the useof all motion graphics within VCU Health EMC.

Maintainproject tracking software for individual assignments.

Stay abreastof industry trends and standards.

QualificationsMinimum Hiring Standards:

A bachelorsdegree in film/photography broadcast communications or related field
or anequivalent combination of college and related experience.

Motion pictureprofessional and strong visual storyteller with 5 years of experience
in aprofessional video production environment producing high end broadcast qualityvideos.

Proven experiencein all phases of video production from conception to finished productincluding scripting camera setup and operation lighting sound andpost-production editing.

Ability tomanage a production from script to finished product.

Demonstratedknowledge of various types of ENG EFP 4K cameras required.

Demonstratedknowledge of one or more types of post-production software
to include;Adobe Creative Suite and DaVinci Resolve.

Knowledge ofMacintosh operating systems and file storage management required.

Demonstratedproficiency of Adobe After Effects.

Ability towork in a fast pace deadline driven team-oriented environment. Must be self-
motivated andable to solve problems with creative solutions.

Must be ableto effectively coordinate multiple projects concurrently.

Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment ofrespect professionalismand civility with a population of faculty staff andstudents from various backgrounds and experiences or a commitment to do so asa staff member at VCU.

Must submit a portfolio of workdemonstrating high-quality video standards skills and compelling storytellingability.


Preferred Hiring Standards:

Motion pictureprofessional and strong visual storyteller with at least 7 years provenexperience in a professional video production environment producing high endbroadcast quality videos.

Thoroughknowledge of all phases of production from conception to finished product includingconcepting scripting interviewing camera setup and operation lightingsound and post-production editing.

Demonstratedknowledge of various types of ENG EFP 4K and 6K cameras required.

Knowledge ofSony cameras is preferred.

Should beproficient in the use of various post production software including AdobeCreative Suite and DaVinci Resolve.
Demonstratedproficiency of Adobe After Effects and ability to design and animate 2D and 3Dimagery.

Ability tosuccessfully manage a project from beginning to end. FAA 107 certified for UASvideo production familiar with DJI drones.

Experience producingvideo in a medical center environment - including emergency and operating roomsintensive care units and clinics preferred.

Understandingof federal regulations regarding patient privacy preferred.

Familiarityworking with patients and sensitive visuals including graphic operating roomscenes preferred.
