DIVISION: Academic
UNIT: DiMenna-Nyselius Library
BASIC FUNCTION: Provides research support to students faculty and staff. Assists with Research Department projects.
UNUSUAL WORK CONDITIONS: Physical requirements: mobility; must be able to lift materials off shelf. Requires some evening and weekend hours.
EDUCATION:Graduate degree in Library & Information Science (MLS or equivalent) from an ALA-accredited program.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE: Recent experience or course work in providing research services. Evidence of a service-oriented approach to working with patrons. Demonstrated competence in using current technologies in the delivery of research services. Demonstrated commitment to diversity equity and inclusion.

REPORTS TO: Research Services Coordinator
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides research support to students faculty and staff. This includes:
providing in-person and online research assistance
maintaining research department statistics
reviewing departmental policies and procedures
developing and maintaining knowledge of Library and University resources
collaborating with full-time research and access services staff.
Assists with Research Department projects. This includes:
creating reviewing and editing research and citation guides
compiling statistics
performing research for projects
assisting with programming.
Performs such other duties responsibilities and activities as required by supervisor and as departmental/University needs indicate.
