IDEAL CANDIDATE STATEMENT
The ideal candidate for the Concrete Construction Leadworker role will be a highly skilled professional in all facets of concrete work including form setting mixing pouring finishing and repair. They will have a strong foundation in municipal concrete construction ensuring compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations and possess the ability to interpret construction plans to execute projects in accordance with City standards and specifications. Additionally the ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership skills effectively guiding work crews to maintain productivity while prioritizing safety in high-risk environments.
To perform heavy manual labor and skilled work in the construction and setting of concrete forms; pouring laying and finishing of concrete; repair and maintenance of concrete structures and assets; a variety of streets facilities and utilities maintenance and construction activities; and to provide lead guidance and direction of the work of an assigned work crew.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
The Concrete Construction Leadworker is given independent responsibility to perform skilled work in all aspects of concrete work including the construction and setting of forms laying and pouring operations and performing standard detailed and/or complex finishing work involving a variety of techniques and tools. When not engaged in concrete related activities incumbents perform a variety of streets facilities and/or utilities-related construction and maintenance duties. Positions in this class are responsible for lead direction and safety of a subordinate work crew.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
General supervision is provided by a higher-level supervisor. Incumbents provide lead work direction to subordinate personnel.

4. Performance Test:(Weighted 100%) Qualified candidates will be notified by email of the test date time and locationapproximately oneto two weeks prior to the test. The performance test will be job related and may include but not limited to the knowledge and abilities as outlined above.The performance exam will be administered in English only.
TEST EXEMPTION- If you have previously taken the Concrete Construction Leadworkerexamwithin the past year of the final filing date of this postingyou may be considered exempt from taking theConcrete Construction LeadworkerExam.
The City of Sacramentos Human Resources Department will verify applicants eligibility at the time of the final filing deadline of this job posting.
5.Eligibility- Candidates who pass the performance test will be placed on an eligible list. The hiring department may contact those on the eligible list for an interview at any time during the life of the one-year list.Candidates eligibility expires year from the date of notification of a passing score for the Concrete Construction Leadworkerexamination. Candidates can take the examination at any time tomaintaineligibility.
If you are currently on an active eligible list for theConcrete Construction Leadworkerclassification it is unnecessary to retake the examination.
The eligible list is effective one year from the date of passing the examination for theConcrete Construction Leadworker.
If you are hired from the eligiblelistyou will no longer have active status on the eligible list perCivil Service Board Rule 5.7(i).Applicants interested inmaintainingtheir eligibility will need to take and pass the exam after their hire date.
6.Conditional Hire:Upon receipt of a conditional offer the selected candidate must complete and pass Live Scan / fingerprinting; review by Human Resources a pre-employment medical exam controlled substance and / or alcohol test andpossessany required licensure or certification prior to receiving a start date from the Department. Failure to meet these prerequisites will be grounds for withdrawal of your conditional offer of employment.
