Job Summary
The Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life is a student-focused collaborative and strategic leader responsible for the development and management of Rensselaers fraternity and sorority community. The Director supports an active and academically engaged fraternity and sorority system that contributes meaningfully to campus culture school spirit and student success at one of the nations premier STEM institutions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Higher Education Administration Student Affairs Counseling Organizational Leadership or related field
- 57 years of progressively responsible student affairs experience including;
- A strong background in fraternity and sorority life
- Proven experience managing risk supporting student conduct processes and navigating crisis response
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering inclusive excellence and belonging among a diverse student population
Relevant combinations of education training and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience advising culturally based fraternal organizations (e.g. NPHC MGC)
- Experience overseeing fraternity/sorority housing operations and physical facility concerns
- Experience supervising professional staff in a higher education environment
- Familiarity with outcomes assessment strategic planning and data-informed decision making
- Experience working in a selective or STEM-focused institution with a high-achieving student population.

- Strong advising coaching and interpersonal skills; able to build trust and credibility with students and stakeholders
- Flexible adaptable and solutions-oriented in a fast-paced environment
- Collegial and collaborative with a strong ability to engage campus and external partners
- Culturally aware and responsive to diverse identities needs and lived experiences
- Emotionally intelligent calm under pressure and confident in high-stakes decision-making
- Able to balance long-term strategic thinking with day-to-day operational leadership
- Student-focused orientation with a record of working collaboratively across teams and departments

Starting Salary/Rate
Expected hiring range: $75000 - $85000
Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidates salary will be determined based on factors that include the available budget internal equity and the final candidates qualifications experience education and other job-related credentials. This hiring range is provided as Rensselaers good faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting.
