Using discretion and judgement the techno functional Eagle Business Systems Analyst (BSA) helps develop systems technology projects that address the business needs of the organization. They independently meet with project stakeholders and business partners to elicit and gather business requirements. They develop and maintain formal specifications that clearly outline the key requirements. The Eagle BSA collaborates with internal IT resources to develop test and deploy technology solutions. The Eagle BSA follows the organizations system development life cycle while working to release projects and maintenance items for the benefit of our clients and internal business partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs analysis of business activities to determine business requirements. Works with users in Portfolio Accounting Data Integrity and Performance business units to understand and define needs. Converts business requirements into functional specifications. Works closely with project team members business users QA developers and other technology professionals in an Agile environment to ensure that project deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
- Acts as a liaison between business stakeholders and the technology organization to ensure proper implementation of requirements within the expected timetable. Communicates any material modifications of business requirements to business stakeholders.
- Collaborates on systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements.
- Ensure proper data processing using data checks and reports to facilitate error free business processes.
- Aggregate and integrate data from multiple sources directly enhancing the value of business analytics.
- Uphold and improve data accessibility quality and integrity standards.
- Works to ensure a positive product for business stakeholders by implementing new data products and solutions. Creates and maintains proper training materials and business documentation.
- Follow the organizations Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) ensuring that all steps of the process have been followed prior to releasing any code.
- Provides application and production support as needed to the departments and systems that they support.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in finance economics computer science or technology related field.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the financial services industry ideally supporting buy side technology.
- Possesses solid knowledge of Equity Fixed Income and Derivatives asset classes.
- Demonstrated strong SQL skills and a solid understanding of investment data.
- Proven ability to efficiently utilize resources and communicate with others both verbally and in writing.
- Proven analytical skills and demonstrated ability to make independent decisions.
- A firm understanding of systems development lifecycle and Agile framework.
- Proven ability to develop creative solutions to meet business needs.
- Functional understanding and development experience with the Eagle suite of products - PACE database and STAR Accounting process.
- Prior development experience with Eagle Web Panel designer and Message Center rules configuration.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Prior project experience with Data Strategies configuration in Eagle Reference Data Center and Rules configuration in Performance engine.
- Prior project experience with systems integration using Java and (or) Informatica
