Job Description
Role: Multiskill Infrastructure Engineer/Linux Admin
Location: Dallas TX Onsite role
Skill Combination: Primary : Linux Secondary : Windows
70% Linux and 30% windows
Must have On-prem to cloud migration and windows migration.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Linux/Solaris and Windows Administrator to manage maintain and support our server infrastructure. This role involves working with both Unix-based (Linux/Solaris) and Windows systems to ensure they run smoothly securely and efficiently. Youll be part of a team that supports business-critical systems and helps improve our IT operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install configure and maintain Linux (SUSE Red Hat CentOS Ubuntu) and Solaris servers.
- Manage and support Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022).
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues across platforms.
- Apply patches updates and security configurations regularly.
- Manage user accounts permissions and access controls.
- Perform system backups and disaster recovery planning.
- Automate routine tasks using shell scripts PowerShell or other tools.
- Collaborate with network storage and application teams.
- Maintain documentation for systems processes and procedures.
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical incidents.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5 years of experience in system administration (Linux/Solaris and Windows).
- Strong knowledge of system internals file systems and networking.
- Experience with virtualization (VMware Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS Azure) is a plus.
- Familiarity with Active Directory DNS DHCP and Group Policy.
- Scripting experience (Bash PowerShell Python) for automation.
- Understanding of IT security best practices.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
- Certifications like RHCSA/RHCE Microsoft Certified: Windows Server or CompTIA Server.
- Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible Puppet etc.).
