We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Account Manager to join our clients sales and operations team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a seamless shipping and customer service experience from shipment inception through to final delivery for key clients.
As the primary point of contact you will be responsible for managing the companies top key accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide end-to-end operational and customer service support for assigned shipments.
- Open and manage operational files using PBL systems and ensure all e-documentation is accurately maintained.
- Follow the prescribed workflow for each shipment and proactively manage exceptions.
- Communicate and coordinate with vendors carriers truckers Customs brokers and third-party partners.
- Monitor and ensure service execution holding vendors accountable for performance and pricing accuracy.
- Review and validate billing on each shipment file seeking opportunities to reduce accessorial or additional charges.
- Provide regular shipment tracking updates using company tools and systems.
- Educate clients on the full suite of services provided by the company across all modes (air ocean etc.).
- Evaluate and price both new and existing business opportunities.
Requirements
- Minimum 9-10 years of relevant experience in freight forwarding
- Experience in managing key accounts for an organisation
- International transportation experience
- Experience working with ERP systems and in a paperless environment is highly preferred
- Must be eligible to pass a TSA background check
- Strong interpersonal skills with a positive proactive approach to customer service.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to attend online meetings
