JOB DESCRIPTION: AutoCAD Drafter and Structural Designer
Purpose: The position s primary responsibility is to create detailed technical drawings for buildings using computer-aided design (CAD) software like AutoCAD. This highly-trained draftsman will work with architects and engineers to design and create 2D computer models of buildings from blueprints or from scratch.
Job Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of 6-7 years experience as an AutoCAD Drafter and Structural Designer
Bachelors degree in civil or structural engineering
Strong analytical and mathematical skills: are essential for load calculations and structural analysis.
Proficiency in CAD software: for creating and modifying designs.
Excellent problem-solving skills: to address design challenges and construction issues.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills: for collaborating with various stakeholders.
Knowledge of relevant building codes and regulations .
Experience in project management: is often required for senior roles.
Experience in working for an Australian business is preferred but not required
Familiar with steel and timber framing and concrete design.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare technical drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
Creating detailed designs for buildings
Load Calculations and Analysis: Determining the loads and stresses that a structure must
withstand and ensuring it can safely bear these forces.
Material Selection: Choosing appropriate building materials based on structural requirements
and project specifications. - Tarek will provide
Collaboration: Working closely with architects contractors and other engineers throughout the project lifecycle.
Documentation: Preparing reports blueprints technical drawings and other construction documents.
Ensure that all drawings are accurate and meet industry standards
Maintain a library of standard drawing templates
Update existing drawings as new information becomes available
