Summary
The Cloud Architect / Engineer will design plan and implement secure scalable and high-availability cloud-based environments to support the Bureau of Engraving and Printings (BEP) Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) program. This role is responsible for architecting and integrating BEPs automation platformincluding UiPath Orchestrator and cognitive automation toolsinto on-premises hybrid and cloud infrastructures. The Cloud Architect / Engineer ensures compliance with BEP security policies Enterprise Lifecycle (ELC) requirements and federal cloud computing standards while optimizing performance and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect cloud environments to host BEPs RPA/AI platforms ensuring security scalability and performance.
• Plan and execute cloud migrations for automation solutions including transitioning from on-premises or local deployments to cloud-based environments.
• Integrate RPA and cognitive capabilities (e.g. ML models OCR/ICR chatbots) into BEPs approved cloud infrastructure.
• Configure and maintain cloud environments in compliance with federal security standards including FedRAMP and FISMA requirements.
• Collaborate with RPA Developers Security Specialists and Program Managers to design secure solution architectures.
• Implement DevOps and CI/CD pipelines for automation deployments in the cloud.
• Monitor and optimize cloud resources to ensure cost efficiency availability and disaster recovery readiness.
• Prepare architecture diagrams system configuration documents and deployment playbooks per BEP ELC standards.
• Support containerization and orchestration strategies using tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Provide cloud platform technical expertise during innovation proof-of-concept and pilot initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

• Certification: Cloud Engineer or Architect certification (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent).
• Experience: Minimum 3 years planning designing migrating building and/or integrating cloud-based RPA/AI project implementations in the commercial or government sector.
• Knowledge Areas: Cloud architecture hybrid integrations RPA platforms cognitive automation tools federal cloud compliance standards DevOps pipelines and container orchestration.
• Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain clearance as required by BEP; must meet High Risk position requirements under HSPD-12.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in AWS GovCloud or Azure Government environments.
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Experience implementing Zero Trust security architectures.
• Knowledge of AI/ML model deployment in cloud environments.
• Familiarity with continuous monitoring and cloud security posture management (CSPM) tools.
