Construction Estimator Job Responsibilities:
- Prepares and estimates budget costs for construction by studying plans and specifications and detailed takeoffs.
- Evaluates vendors proposals by reconciling for scope adherence to plans and specifications
- Writes up and presents budgets and reports.
- Able to find VE and present for discussion.
- Perform lessons learned and implement improvements in future bids.
- Develops bids for various construction projects.
- Works closely with architects and other professionals.
- Schedules meetings with clients site managers and staff.
- Navigates and understands building codes.
- Processes paperwork in a timely manner.
- Travels to building sites as required.
- Stays up to date with safety codes and improvements in construction.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proficiency in securing project bid information from customer lenders design team permit department subcontractors venders etc.
- Strong math skills including algebra geometry and arithmetic used in estimation process.
- Ability to read construction drawings navigate specifications and plans
- Proficiency in demonstrating material take offs
- Professional Appearance.
- Time management is essential.
- Review Go No Go process with team.
- Proficiency in creating proposals.
- Proficiency in teamwork and the hand off to operations team to start project.

Requirements:
- Experienced Commercial Construction Estimator. Prefer experienced applicants with a minimum of 10 years in the construction industry and at least 5 of those years as a commercial estimator.
- A bachelors degree in construction architecture engineering with in construction estimating or a similar field is preferred. We will also consider Associates or Trade School training with a combination of construction work experience and education.
- Prefer OSHA Safety Trained.
- Prefer candidates with knowledge training and experience in construction estimation with an understanding of general construction means and methods as well as familiarity with roofing electrical mechanical etc.
- Prefer candidates with experience using estimating construction and office software: Bluebeam Procore Excel Outlook Project Microsoft Office etc.
- Must be authorized to work in the USA.
- Must have a valid drivers license with a good standing driving history.
- Must be able to pass background check.
- Must be able to pass random drug tests.
