Role Type: Fixed Term Contract with Talpro
Experience: 4 7 years (strong preference for multithreading expertise)

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Java Developer with strong hands-on experience in Core Java and multithreaded programming. The ideal candidate can deliver high value technical projects end to end handle production issues in fast paced environments and collaborate effectively with cross functional stakeholders. Experience in the financial securities domain is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Hands-on Java Development: Build and enhance enterprise-grade applications using Core Java (Java 8) focusing on concurrency collections and performance.
Technical Project Delivery: Own features/modules from design through production deployment; demonstrate a track record of delivering high impact initiatives.
Collaboration & Influence: Partner with engineering product and external stakeholders; build credibility and positively influence outcomes.
Production Readiness: Support and improve platform reliability (monitoring alerting capacity planning DR readiness); assist with incident response and root cause analysis.
Multitasking & Production Handling: Balance new development with production support in a fast paced environment.
Engineering Discipline: Apply TDD code reviews CI/CD and SDLC best practices consistently.
Communication: Convey technical concepts clearly to both technical and non technical audiences.
Must Have Skills
Core Java (Java 8) with deep expertise in multithreading (thread safety synchronization executors locks latches) collections (e.g. HashMap internals) and performance optimization.
Spring (Core/Spring Boot) with strong debugging skills including remote debugging.
Object Oriented Design & SOLID principles; strong grasp of design patterns and clean architecture practices.
Relational Databases: Proficiency with DB2 Oracle or Sybase; strong SQL query tuning and data modeling.
Messaging & Instrumentation: Experience with JMS (e.g. TIBCO EMS IBM MQ) and JMX.
Performance & Monitoring: Hands on with VisualVM JConsole memory/GC tuning and JVM diagnostics.
Build & Dev Tools: Maven SVN/Git (Git preferred) CI/CD pipelines and TDD practices.
Full SDLC & Agile: Solid understanding of agile delivery from requirements to release and post production support.
Preferred (Good to Have)
Front end exposure: Basic experience with React for UI integration.
Industry: Experience in financial services/securities (trading market data settlements risk).
Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field.
4 to 7 years of professional Java development experience; candidates with 6 years and deep multithreading expertise are strongly preferred.
