Job Description
Material Handler
Must have a good working knowledge of product labeling to ensure correct product is being shipped or received. Compare identifying information and count, weigh, or measure items of incoming or outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. Prepare and expedite shipments wrap pallets with plastic and affix labels, including any special customer labels; scan labels into the system; move pallets from the production floor to the warehouse and stack; fill out bills of lading and complete any additional paperwork; input information into the computer. Move finished products and ingredients to and from the production floor as required pick up any returns. Stage product and loads the Customer trucks. Partial loads need to be stacked by hand only. Deliver pallets and sample cases to R&D or QC.
Accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the forklift. The Shipping/Receiving Material Handler loads customer trailers with products and unloads trailers of ingredients. Verifies and keeps records of all incoming and outgoing shipments. Maintains the warehouses and storage areas.
