Genesis Consulting is seeking a Business Analyst to support strategic IT transformation initiatives within a large public-sector education technology organization. The ideal candidate has a strong background in process optimization business documentation stakeholder engagement and strategic planning support. This role will directly contribute to enhancing IT governance planning and operational transparency across complex enterprise environments.
As part of a multidisciplinary team the Business Analyst will collaborate with senior leaders technical teams and cross-functional stakeholders to analyze current-state practices identify improvement opportunities and document future-state workflows governance structures and reporting models.
Process Optimization & Analysis
Assess current IT planning project management and governance processes.
Identify gaps inefficiencies and opportunities for streamlining across teams and workstreams.
Develop and document standardized workflows templates and tools to support governance and operational efficiency.
Business Documentation
Create high-quality documentation including process maps SOPs governance charters reporting frameworks and decision-making guides.
Maintain clear and version-controlled repositories for project and governance documentation.
Translate complex business and technical concepts into accessible formats for varied audiences.
Stakeholder Facilitation & Requirements Gathering
Engage business and technical stakeholders to elicit requirements capture use cases and define KPIs.
Facilitate workshops interviews and working sessions to gather insights and align stakeholders around future-state models.
Build strong relationships across departments to promote adoption of new practices and tools.
Strategic Planning & Reporting Support
Support the development of a multi-year strategic IT roadmap through analysis documentation and coordination.
Collaborate with analysts and developers to design dashboard wireframes and reporting templates aligned to strategic priorities.
Contribute to reporting efforts by ensuring consistent tracking of project performance compliance and financial metrics.
5 years of experience in business analysis process improvement or strategic operations.
Demonstrated success working on large-scale cross-functional IT transformation or governance initiatives.
Experience in public sector education or large enterprise IT organizations.
Familiarity with IT governance strategic planning or innovation frameworks.
Knowledge of Project Management Tools and methodologies (Agile Waterfall hybrid).
Proficiency in process modeling tools (e.g. Visio Lucid chart) and project documentation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen ability to synthesize complex inputs.
Strong facilitation skills with proven experience leading stakeholder sessions.
Systems thinker who can connect people processes and technology.
Bachelor s Degree in Business Administration Information Technology or related field.
CBAP PMI-PBA Lean Six Sigma or Agile Certifications are a plus.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Candidates must be able to be onsite in New York NY as needed.
