Job Description

At SPL were powered by purpose precision and forward momentum. Were searching for a motivated Quality Specialist to join our team in Commerce City CO. In this impact-driven role youll help maintain the Quality Management System for audit readiness through implementation and management of processes and records. This includes systems for corrective action equipment management (calibrations PM scheduling etc.) training management internal auditing vendor/subcontractor management and system/method documentation. What Youll Do

  • Ensure the Quality Management System meets all applicable ISO 17025 and/or NELAC requirements;
  • Lead external audits under the direction of Quality department leadership;
  • Review SPL PTP data against peer laboratories to identify anomalies or nonconforming results;
  • Lead corrective action investigations documentation and follow-up to ensure compliance and resolution;
  • Communicate findings corrective actions test method assessments and management-of-change updates to the Quality Director and/or lab management throughout the year and during the annual Management Review Meeting;
  • Maintain the Statistical Quality Control (SQC) system;
  • Keep accurate records of equipment validation including calibration schedules preventative maintenance and regular verification;
  • Maintain records of approved vendors and subcontractors;
  • Oversee the internal audit program including scheduling conducting audits and documenting findings;
  • Maintain system documentation with input from technical and operations teams;
  • Support Proficiency Testing/Interlaboratory Comparison Program management;
  • Organize and maintain all quality-related records;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Bachelors Degree in a scientific or technical field or equivalent experience;
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an accredited laboratory;
  • Previous experience directly related to QMS preferred ideally ISO 17025 or NELAC;
  • Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations;
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office suite to perform job functions;
  • Ability to prioritize multiple demands in partnership with leadership;
  • Ability to keep accurate records;
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats;
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form;
  • Ability to work as a team with laboratory leadership and personnel across multiple departments.

Your Schedule and The Fine Print

  • Full-time position following a standard Monday through Friday schedule;
  • Ability to work extended hours when necessary for business needs.
