Overview
The Laboratory Technician will support daily lab operations ensuring equipment readiness
safety compliance and an organized work environment. This role involves inventory
management light assembly data entry and providing hands-on support to lab personnel.
Requirements
Perform routine inventory checks and maintain stock of tools equipment hardware and
consumables.
Key Responsibilities
Organize lab spaces including cables projects and storage areas to maintain
efficiency and accessibility.
Handle shipping receiving palletizing and uncrating of lab equipment and materials.
Ensure safety compliance by addressing hazards maintaining clear egress paths and
preventing unsafe electrical setups.
Dispose of IP waste in accordance with lab protocols.
Support equipment audits and maintain accurate asset documentation.
Assemble and install equipment or furniture as needed.
Gather quotes and process purchase requests for lab supplies.
Act as a point of contact for lab users directing them to the appropriate resources.
Support lab walkthroughs tours and safety inspections.
Maintain and update equipment reservation and access systems providing user
assistance when required.
Identify and escalate opportunities for process and efficiency improvements.
Qualifications
Experience in a laboratory or technical support environment organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to lift and move equipment and perform light assembly tasks.
Familiarity with safety and compliance standards in a lab setting.
Proficiency in data entry and basic database systems.

Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities) Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required. Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience required. Significant experience in 3D and 2D CAD systems. Siemens NX preferred. Experience with over molding methodologies and tool design. Experience with a wide range of manufacturing methods (machining, sheet metal, injection molding, etc.). Experience performing mechanical system analysis, design margin analysis, and designing custom tools for assembly, testing or characterizing electro mechanical systems, and creating clear written technical documentation. Familiarity with test design, planning, and execution, including accelerated test methods. Reliability engineering, FMEA, product performance testing and test results reporting experience (DOE). Experience working in a product design/manufacturing environment. Proven ability to take initiative to identify and solve complex system level issues. Excellent analytical and empirical problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to plan work and accomplish objectives with minimal direction. Basic computer literacy skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, basic file structure understanding, networks, and web navigation. Strong written and verbal English language communication skills. Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, both within and outside one's own work group. Demonstrate commitment and adherence to Sigma Design Core Values. Pass a post-offer background verification.
