Responsibilities:
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and encourages student engagement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective curriculum.
- Plan prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning and meet the needs of all learners.
- Communicate clear learning targets and success criteria to students for all learning activities.
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
- Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
- Develop formative and summative assessments in accordance with established procedures.
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom to facilitate learning.
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students progress and development as required by laws and school policies.
- Communicate consistently and in a timely manner with parents regarding their childs academic and behavioral attitudes and achievements.
- Maintain safety and security of the students in the classroom and common school areas.
- Supervise students at various school functions such as field trips and overnight trips and school assemblies.
- Attend all parent-teacher conferences back-to-school nights faculty meetings and substitute in one class per week as needed.
- Supervise lunch and recess.
- Support the team with carpool and dismissal procedures.
- Stay up-to-date on current educational trends and research to continually improve teaching practices.
Qualifications:
- Dedication to creating a nurturing and challenging learning environment for students.
- Bachelors degree in education or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a lower school setting.
- Valid teaching certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pedagogical practices and learning theories.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
