The Loan Service Representative II is responsible for providing accurate and timely support to members and frontline staff for consumer and real estate loans after origination through payoff and lien release.
Core Job Requirements/Outcomes
- Provide exceptional member service by demonstrating intermediate level knowledge in the assistance of coworkers members and frontline staff on general loan servicing questions. Mentor team members by sharing process expertise to assist in training.
- Mitigate loan loss risk by ensuring that the institutions collateral is adequately secured through title perfection and Deed of Trust maintenance while also maintaining that the collateral is fully insured against any losses or damage. Ensures loan setup and documentation accuracy and completeness by reviewing and auditing new loans in order to prevent any unnecessary rework and member dissatisfaction.
- Adhere to regulatory requirements included in the Fair Credit Reporting Act and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau by responding to consumer inquiries and exception reporting while maintaining the institutions privacy and security policies and procedures.
- Keep departmental procedures and task instructions current by auditing and updating as needed. Contribute to the strategic initiatives of the credit union by supporting the Loan Service Specialist and Loan Service Managers with projects.
Other Essential Functions
- Utilize continual improvement tools when performing servicing tasks and project work and communicate any necessary procedure updates and ideas for improvement to department managers.
- Provide support to team members by maintaining positive working relationships that promote a collaborative and inviting team environment.
- Process departmental reports and workflows to keep loan records accurate.
- Monitor incoming and outgoing mail.
- Support the Real Estate department and Financial Relief Solutions department by preparing modification agreements as needed.
Qualifications :
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
Job Experience: Minimum of two years experience in loan servicing and intermediate knowledge of regulations pertaining to loan collateral FCRA SCRA and CFPB is required.
Software Skills: Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Outlook Word Excel and Teams.
Physical Demands: Must be able to regularly talk hear and operate a computer keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift pull/push and carry up to 10 pounds with accommodations.
Work Conditions: Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting. Exposure to high-stress fast-paced deadline-oriented environment.
Other: Perform additional duties as assigned for the efficient operation of the department and the organization. This includes the possibility of being assigned temporarily to other locations.
