Project Overview:
Innosoft is the prime contractor for MD THINK supporting the management design development testing and implementation of this strategic Information Technology (IT) program. Maryland Benefits is seeking an agile development resource team with required skill sets to build and/or maintain the Maryland Benefits infrastructure/platform applications development data repositories reports and dashboards and support activities related to network services and system operations.
The Eligibility & Enrollment (E&E) Reporting Team is responsible for designing developing and maintaining reporting solutions for the E&E System. This team ensures accurate timely and compliant reporting to support decision-making performance monitoring and regulatory compliance. They are also tasked to generate reports on an ad-hoc basis upon the request of all stakeholders.
Duties/Responsibilities:
The Quality Assurance Consultant provides quality management for information systems using the standard methodologies techniques and metrics for assuring product quality and key activities in quality management. This individual is responsible for performing the following tasks:
- Establishing capable processes monitoring and control of critical processes and product mechanisms for feedback of performance implementing effective root cause analysis and corrective action system and continuous process improvement;
- Providing strategic quality plans in targeted areas of the organization;
- Providing QA strategies to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established industry standards government regulations and customer requirements; and
- Developing and implementing life cycle and QA methodologies educating and implementing QA metrics.
- Lead quality assurance efforts for services built on Java (Spring Boot) Aurora (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and reporting platforms like Amazon QuickSight and Qlik.
- Design and implement test plans test cases and automated test scripts for functional regression integration and performance testing.
- Collaborate closely with developers BI engineers and the Tech Lead to ensure test coverage across data ingestion API layers and reporting workflows.
- Validate the accuracy consistency and usability of data visualizations and dashboards against business requirements.
- Build and maintain automated test frameworks for backend APIs and frontend applications using tools such as JUnit Selenium Postman or Cypress.
- Analyze and document defects verify fixes and ensure resolution before release.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous testing and early defect detection.
Requirements
Education:
This position requires a Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering Computer Science Information Systems or a related discipline.
General Experience:
The candidate must have at least eight (8) years of information systems quality assurance experience.
Specialized Experience:
The candidate must have at least five (5) years of experience working with statistical methods and quality standards. This individual must have working QA/process knowledge and possess superior written and verbal communication skills.
- 5 years of QA testing experience including at least 2 years in a senior or lead QA role.
- Proven experience testing Java-based web applications REST APIs and database-driven systems.
- Strong SQL skills to test and validate database logic stored procedures and data integrity (Aurora or equivalent).
- Familiarity with QA in reporting tools such as QuickSight Qlik Tableau or Power BI.
- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium JUnit/TestNG Postman etc.
- Experience working in Agile environments with version control (Git) Jira and CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins GitHub Actions).
- Experience validating dashboards for data accuracy visual consistency and user access roles in BI tools like QuickSight or Qlik.
- Background in testing data pipelines and integrations involving multiple layers (ETL API UI).
- Strong understanding of performance and load testing for high-volume data applications.
- Experience writing automated tests for frontend components (React/Angular) and backend services.
- Familiarity with mocking tools and test data management for API and service testing.
