Overview:
We are seeking Senior Subject Matter Experts with deep industry trade and economic policy expertise to support strategic initiatives across I&As eight mission-critical divisions. These SMEs will serve as high-level advisors to senior government leaders providing actionable insights and shaping policies that directly impact U.S. global competitiveness.
Ideal candidates bring 20 years of experience and are recognized experts in their field capable of leading high-stakes research analysis stakeholder engagement and strategic planning efforts.
Divisional Impact Areas:
You may serve in one or more of the following:
Manufacturing & Services: Provide macro- and microeconomic guidance to protect and promote U.S. industry interests
Supply Chain Center: Guide advanced risk modeling efforts to bolster national supply chain resilience
Textiles & Consumer Goods: Navigate trade enforcement complexities and preference programs
Travel & Tourism: Develop policies and strategies to expand U.S. export services through tourism
Trade Agreements Secretariat: Advise on dispute settlement mechanisms and policy frameworks
Trade Policy & Analysis: Lead economic research forecasting and performance evaluation
Industry Engagement: Oversee public-private engagement strategies and external communications
Cross-Divisional Strategy: Advise executive leadership on interagency coordination and long-term strategic direction
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as lead advisor on industry trade or economic issues affecting U.S. competitiveness
Deliver technical reports policy memos and executive briefings
Guide multidisciplinary project teams across I&A divisions
Evaluate existing frameworks recommend improvements and shape strategic policy direction
Represent I&A in high-level engagements with interagency partners industry stakeholders and foreign governments
Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications:
Masters degree doctoral-level studies or doctoral degree required
20 years of specialized experience in a relevant field
Demonstrated expertise in areas such as:
International trade supply chains economic policy
Industry-specific competitiveness and innovation
Strategic planning analytics or trade enforcement
Advisory committee leadership or external stakeholder engagement
Proven ability to brief senior executives and lead interagency collaboration
Preferred Qualifications:
Federal consulting experience or prior service in government/think tank/NGO roles
Proficiency in policy writing economic modeling or executive communications
Familiarity with the mission of ITA and I&As program areas
