JOB SUMMARY:
The Marketing & Design Assistant will support the Marketing Manager in day-to-day marketing tasks including creating engaging designs managing social media content and helping deliver marketing campaigns. This role will focus on producing visuals for both digital and print assisting with social media growth and supporting a variety of projects such as signage brochure Google Business Profile updates and community initiatives.
The candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills - effective interaction resourceful and able to find solutions independently anticipating challenges and proactively addressing them can be trusted to handle information maintain confidentiality and consistently deliver quality work.
This is a flexible role that will grow over time. The Assistant will work closely under the direction of the Marketing Manager with opportunities to take on more responsibility as the role develops.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design & Creative Support
Create designs for social media brochures signage in-store screens and marketing campaigns.
Adapt designs across multiple formats (digital print).
Ensure all creative output is consistent with brand guidelines.
Social Media Management
Draft schedule and publish posts on Instagram and Facebook.
Research trends hashtags and SEO practices to help grow followers and drive sales.
Monitor and respond to basic comments/messages escalating as needed.
Content & Marketing Support
Assist with writing short-form content for social media and other marketing channels- Help manage and improve Google Business Profiles for multiple store locations.
Support ongoing campaigns and special projects (e.g. Happiness Project).
Conduct research to ensure content is accurate relevant and aligns with current trends.
General Marketing Assistance
Prepare marketing materials such as brochures flyers and event collateral.
Assist in planning and executing small events or in-store promotions (ex.: TV/ATM Ads).
Provide ad-hoc support across all marketing activities as directed.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong understanding of social media platforms and best practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Creative thinker with strong attention to detail.
Knowledge of relevant marketing tools and applications
Bachelor s degree in Graphic Design Marketing Communications or a related field.
Proven experience in graphic design with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
Basic knowledge of SEO hashtags and online engagement strategies.
Proficiency in Canva (essential); Adobe Creative Suite experience is an advantage.
Previous experience in social media management graphic design or marketing support is highly valued.
Experience with event planning and coordination is a plus.
