Job Description
Role Overview: Sr. Data Scientist
As a Sr. Data Scientist you will lead the development and implementation of advanced data science solutions to address complex business challenges. You will be responsible for leveraging cutting-edge techniques in machine learning statistical analysis and data mining to extract insights from large datasets and drive data-driven decision-making across the organisation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science proven leadership abilities and a track record of delivering impactful solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design development and deployment of innovative data science solutions to solve complex business problems.
- Use state-of-the-art MLOps practices to help evaluate different models manage them and deploy them to production.
- Engage with customers to understand their needs challenges and goals and translate them into data science solutions that drive value.
- Contribute to proposals presales and renewal activities
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior data scientists fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Lead and facilitate workshops meetings and presentations to gather requirements communicate findings and solicit feedback from stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science machine learning and related fields and evaluate their applicability to our business challenges.
Requirements
- 5-10 years of experience in a data science role with a track record of delivering impactful solutions to complex business problems.
- Masters or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science Statistics Mathematics or a related field.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong leadership abilities with a demonstrated track record of leading and mentoring teams.
- Expertise in machine learning statistical analysis and data mining techniques with hands-on experience in tools such as Python.
- Strong programming skills and proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using libraries such as pandas NumPy scikit-learn or TensorFlow.
- Experience in cloud computing platforms such as AWS Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop Spark or Kafka is preferred.
- Knowledge of deep learning techniques and frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Experience working in industries such as telecommunications banking & finance or retail
- Certifications in data science or related fields (e.g. AWS Certified Machine Learning Specialty Databricks Machine learning)
- Experience in distributed ML techniques (such as Ray)
