Job Description

Te Whiwhinga mahi The opportunity

We are seeking a Clinical Trials Manager to take responsibility for the development and operational management of one or more clinical trials within Cancer Trials New Zealand. Your duties will be varied but will centre around trial management site monitoring and the business-as-usual operations and administration tasks needed to keep our research pushing forward.

Below is a snapshot of some of your key areas of focus:

  • Act as the main point of contact for the relevant trials and regularly communicate with the funders sites lead investigators sponsor and key stakeholders arranging and holding meetings as appropriate
  • Oversee trial related activities including timelines milestones and specific requirements
  • Ensure regulatory requirements (including Mori consultation and review) are fulfilled and that all approvals and authorisations are secured
  • Set up contracts (including the main agreement site agreements sub-agreements service agreements as applicable). Manage payments of sites subcontractors service providers etc
  • Write and submit trial progress/safety reports as and when required to regulatory bodies funder sponsor as applicable
  • Perform site monitoring visits at participating centres according to Standard Operating Procedures ICH GCP and project-specific monitoring plans

Qualifications :

To be considered for this role you will have a bachelors degree in a relevant area and 3 years of experience in a clinical trials environment. You will need to demonstrate experience of developing new trials and the writing and maintenance of clinical trial documents (Protocol PIS/CF SOPs etc). You will thrive in this role if you have strong time management processes and experience of meeting deadlines whilst juggling multiple priorities.

It is essential that you have

  • Demonstrable specialist knowledge and experience of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • Knowledge of clinical research principles and design
  • High level of computer literacy (databases spreadsheets word processing and presentation packages)

You will stand out when applying if you have 3 or more years of clinical trials experience in oncology (in one or more of the following areas of cancer research - Medical Oncology; Radiation Oncology; Haematological Oncology; Immunotherapy; Phase I studies; Palliative Care). It will also be beneficial if you have experience in the New Zealand clinical research environment. Were very interested in understanding your management experience including staff and budget management.
