You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Nigeria GATEWAY Program led by Co-creation HUB (CcHUB) is a 5-year initiative designed to support 400000 Nigerian youth including women persons with disabilities (PWDs) and displaced youth to access training resources and gig work opportunities.
We are seeking a Gender/DEI Manager to champion the integration of gender equality disability inclusion and broader diversity equity and inclusion (DEI) principles across the program. The Manager will ensure that interventions are inclusive equitable and responsive to the unique barriers faced by marginalized groups.
The Gender/DEI Manager will provide technical leadership on gender and inclusion strategies oversee gender/disability audits and support the design implementation and evaluation of interventions that close participation gaps. The role will also strengthen staff partner and stakeholder capacity to adopt inclusive approaches ensuring the GATEWAY Program achieves measurable impact for women PWDs and other underrepresented groups in Nigerias digital gig economy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Gender & DEI Mainstreaming
Integrate gender-sensitive and inclusive approaches into the design delivery and evaluation of all program components.
Conduct gender disability and inclusion analysis to identify barriers and design responsive interventions.
Ensure that training voucher systems digital tools and gig-matching mechanisms are inclusive and accessible.
Support M&E teams to integrate gender/DEI-sensitive indicators and track participation and outcomes for women PWDs and displaced youth.
2. Inclusion Audits and Action Planning
Lead gender and inclusion audits across program operations training providers partner hubs and gig platform partnerships.
Develop and monitor action plans to address gaps in participation accessibility and equity.
Regularly update program policies and processes to reflect evolving gender/DEI best practices and Nigerian regulatory standards.
3. Report Development and Resource Mobilization
Provide input on donor reports to ensure gender/DEI responsiveness.
Support budget reviews to ensure resources are adequately allocated for gender-sensitive and inclusive interventions.
4. Capacity Building and Training
Design and deliver training sessions for staff partners training providers and gig platforms on gender equity disability inclusion and DEI practices.
Develop toolkits guidelines and resources for internal and external stakeholders.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to program teams to strengthen DEI integration into daily operations.
5. Thought Leadership and Advocacy
Position the GATEWAY Program as a leader in inclusive digital workforce development in Africa.
Document and share case studies lessons and success stories on gender and inclusion impact.
Represent the program at forums on gender equity inclusion and the future of work.
Advocate for inclusive workforce policies with gig platforms government and industry stakeholders.
6. Partnerships and Collaboration
Build partnerships with organizations focused on gender equity disability rights and youth inclusion.
Work with government civil society and private sector stakeholders to co-create inclusive interventions.
Support joint advocacy and collaborative efforts to promote equitable access to gig work opportunities in Nigeria.
Key Performance Indicators
Qualifications :
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in gender mainstreaming disability inclusion DEI programming or social inclusion within development workforce or innovation ecosystems.
Technical Expertise: Strong background in gender and inclusion analysis inclusive program design and monitoring.
Intersectionality: Solid understanding of how gender disability age and socio-economic status intersect in creating barriers to opportunity.
Capacity Building: Demonstrated experience delivering training and technical support on gender and inclusion to diverse audiences.
Communication & Advocacy: Excellent writing facilitation and advocacy skills with proven ability to engage government civil society donors and private sector stakeholders.
Policy & Context: Familiarity with Nigerian (and African) gender disability and inclusion frameworks policies and legal standards.
Education: Degree in Gender Studies Development Studies Social Sciences Human Rights Disability Studies or related field. A Masters degree is an added advantage.
