Assistant Manager Operations & Maintenance (India)
Job Description
This key role will be responsible to manage and supervise the on-site activities related to machines working to perform railway track construction and rail grinding projects and operationsparticularly involving track machines ensuring timely execution technical compliance and adherence to safety and quality standards. This role will be based across multiple machine work locations pan-India.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and monitor the operation deployment and maintenance of track machines at the site.
- Ensure all site activities comply with project plans engineering standards and safety procedures.
- Read and understand contractual obligations clearly. Prepare strong correspondence with customers on contractual matters relating to O&M.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders contractors and vendors for timely execution of work.
- Maintain and organize all project documentation including drawings reports approvals and technical correspondences.
- Ensure preventive and scheduled maintenance of machines is carried out as per guidelines with proper records maintained.
- Identify assess and resolve on-site technical issues promptly in coordination with engineering teams.
- Monitor site safety compliance and support implementation of safety protocols.
- Track and report project progress through regular updates and progress reports to management.
- Ensure compliance with railway industry protocols and procedures at all project stages.
- Travel to various project sites as required for supervision audits and support
Team Management:
- Supervise technicians operators and contract manpower in shifts.
- Provide technical guidance and training to site staff.
- Ensure manpower allocation as per contract and workload.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports on O&M activities breakdown root-cause analysis and performance KPIs cost-tracking.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Projects SCM Quality and Safety.

Required Knowledge Skills and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in engineering (Mechanical / Electrical preferred)
- 08-10 years of experience projects/operations in Railway & Metro Industries.
- Familiarity with mechanical systems like gearboxes bearings hydraulic systems and electrical panels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication documentation and site team leadership abilities.
- Role will be based at site and the requirement is to stay at site
