What Does Our Team Look Like
Were a cross-functional team of backend frontend iOS and Android engineers working hand-in-hand with a Product Manager Analyst and Designer. Together we deliver seamless impactful solutions across all Wise platforms. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do we value ownership knowledge sharing and a commitment to building stable scalable systems while embracing fast-paced learning and iteration.
What Do We Expect From You
As a Senior Backend Engineer youll be instrumental in building and maintaining robust and scalable backend systems. Youll directly influence our teams roadmap that aim to improve key features of Wise among others the Send Add money Pay-in flows and Money tracker as well as the LLM based help assistant we are building. You get the responsibility to own your projects: coordinate engineers and drive from ideation to finish and make a real impact. It involves cross team collaboration with various stakeholders and regional teams who are experts of their customers and own local solutions.
Were looking for a proactive individual with a strong foundation in backend technologies a passion for writing clean and efficient code and a desire to learn and grow within a supportive environment.
Qualifications :
What does it take:
You have 6 years of experience with Java or Kotlin experience with Spring framework and microservice best practices
A strong product mindset you prioritise work with the customers in mind and make data-driven decisions
Sense of ownership and great communication skills to drive projects across teams
You believe in and follow best coding practices code reviews and open feedback
You enjoy writing testable code and believe in Test Driven Development
Experience working with relational databases query optimisation and designing schemas
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Distributed and Concurrent Systems
Hands on knowledge of system integration patterns
