Description
Position: Oracle Senior Database Administrator (DBA)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide database administration support for critical business applications in both single-tenant and multitenant architectures.
- Manage Oracle databases on various operating systems including Linux and Windows.
- Install upgrade patch and configure Oracle Server (versions 11G 12c 19c 23ai) in multi-node RAC environments ensuring compliance with availability SLAs.
- Use Oracle Enterprise Manager for performance tuning issue detection and general administration.
- Implement backup strategies using RMAN and Datapump to meet recovery objectives and SLAs.
- Apply security best practices to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain database maintenance scripts.
- Review and deploy application code changes.
- Configure Oracle High Availability (HA) solutions such as RMAN Active Data Guard FastStart Failover and optionally GoldenGate.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call support rotation.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a STEM field (Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics).
- Oracle Certified Professional preferred.
- Over 8 years of experience in Oracle Database Administration (11gR2 12c 19c 23ai) including Oracle Grid Control 13c and GoldenGate.
- Strong experience with database upgrades and patching.
- Proficient in backup and recovery using RMAN and logical backups.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture (RAC Grid Infrastructure Data Guard).
- Advanced skills in database and SQL query tuning using both command line and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
- Minimum of 5 years supporting Oracle databases on Linux.
- Strong scripting skills in Unix (BASH/Python).
- Proven expertise in Oracle High Availability solutions (RMAN and Data Guard).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; self-motivated and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
Optional Skills:
- Experience installing configuring and maintaining GoldenGate replication (single and bi-directional).
- DBA experience with PostgreSQL.
- Exposure to Oracle cloud implementations (Azure OCI Exadata ).
