Job Summary
Locomotive Driver
- Inspecting and accepting the traction unit in accordance with specified guidelines including verifying safety equipment and commissioning the unit
- Reviewing and ensuring completeness and currency of necessary documents conducting brake tests and checking train data
- Performing train shunting and special operations in compliance with regulatory standards considering signals orders routes and operating the locomotive
- Troubleshooting traction unit issues following safety protocols
- Conducting vehicle checks and assisting in securing vehicle load
- Handling customer service tasks as per orders
- Depositing or handing over the traction unit to the replacement including necessary closing activities and depositing train documents
- Completing damage reports arranging vehicle decommissioning conducting coupling activities and securing locomotives and wagons
Requirements
Requirements:
- Completed training as a train driver
- 2 years of working experience as a Locomotive Driver
- Completed apprenticeship preferably in technical professions or upper secondary level education
- Participation in periodic training and continuing education courses
- Successful periodic knowledge review
- Knowledge of German both written and spoken (B2 level based on the European Framework of Reference for Languages)
