- Equipment Operator I - Colorado Springs AirportThe Colorado Springs Airport is ready to welcome an Equipment Operator I to their Airfield Maintenance team! As an Equipment Operator I you will perform construction maintenance and repair tasks for the Airfield Maintenance Division of the Airport (Colorado Springs Airport).

Salary:$19.98 - $23.99 ( 5% pay differential)
Work Schedule:Full-time Monday - Friday; 8-hour shifts. Opportunity for overtime and occasional night work depending on project deadlines and operational requirements. Subject to on-call emergency call-out and seasonal duties such as 12-hour rotating shifts for snow removal procedures when necessary.Prerequisite:The selected candidate must pass (or have already passed) a fingerprint-based criminal history records check as required by the Transportation Security Administration.
As an Equipment Operator I you will:- Perform manual labor such as mowing erosion control snow removal and fence repair
- Perform airfield and landside painting
- Maintain repair and replace concrete/asphalt surfaces and drainage systems
- Operate mowing light construction and airfield snow removal equipment
- Ensure all work is performed according to applicable safety regulations
- Perform general grounds maintenance
- Perform general maintenance and repairs of equipment
Knowledge of:- Practices methods and materials used in grounds maintenance
- Occupational hazards and standard safety practices
- And experience with all types of concrete repair and replacement
- And experience with all types of asphalt repair and replacement
- Safely operate assigned vehicle machinery and equipment
- Learn pertinent FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) airfield regulations
- Adhere to Airport and FAA safety standards
Minimum Qualifications
- Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED)
- One year of full-time professional experience in related field
- Possess or obtain upon hire and maintain a valid non-probationary Colorado drivers license not subject to restrictions
- Possess or obtain within 12 months of start date a valid non-probationary Colorado Class B CDL not subject to restrictions is required for this position
