We are looking for an Technical Designer III to use their technical expertise leadership skills and dedication to quality to join our team and positively impact safe human spaceflight. As part of a hardworking team of specialists technicians and engineers you will be deployed to programs that craft the future of Blue Origin. Your skill in the design modelling and drafting of safe reliable ready to install hardware will be crucial to providing safe reliable transportation to the moon!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Create CAD models drawings and model-based definitions for passive thermal products.
• Maintain design quality and data integrity through PLM system actions.
• Perform design and maintenance of passive thermal products by preparing design layouts and drawings modifying existing designs and resolving design discrepancies.
• Support equipment design and development for manufacturing of passive thermal products.
• Support fabrication installation and commissioning of new or modified systems at any Blue Origin site when necessary.
• Provide guidance on schedule and technical requirements to internal customers.
• Incorporate drafting standards and standard drawing notes based on company program and industry standards.
• Perform model and drawing check activities during release reviews.
• Cross discipline collaboration to ensure updates from all stakeholders are incorporated into the design

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4 years proven experience plus formal training in 3D computer design.
• Experience with CAD tools (Creo Solidworks etc.) and Windchill; expert user level at creating and maintaining bills of materials mechanical product models/drawings assembly models/drawings and installation models/drawings.
• Expertise with GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis on large-scale complex 3D aerospace products; familiar with ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5.
• Knowledge of standard components installation and fabrication methods (eg bolted joints fits and clearances sheet metal machining welding).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Aerospace design experience or design experience in a similarly regulated industry.
• Manufacturing equipment design support.
• Parametric parameter development for product design.
• Creo experience and/or user certification. Windchill experience and/or user certification.
• Prior use of mechanical mechanism (kinematic) sheet metal and/or composites.
• Experience with a PLM or PDM configuration and change control database.

• Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
