The North Carolina Office of the State Auditor (OSA) is seeking a Staff Auditor II within our Performance Audit Division. This position serves as a professional auditor who is primarily responsible for assisting with various audits as a member of the audit team.
OSA is the states Fiscal Watchdog. We hold state government and entities that receive public money accountable working on behalf of North Carolinians to eliminate waste fraud and abuse.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities / Competencies
Ability to interpret and apply knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles technical and professional standards such as Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards Ability to follow audit procedures as planned and review the work for completeness and accuracy Demonstrates example for other team members in a manner by which tasks are completed open to feedback and suggestions for improvement and assists in technical supervision of lower-level auditors
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
A bachelors degree with 12 semester hours in accounting from an appropriately accredited institution and 2 years of experience in auditing/accounting or program evaluation

- The Office of the State Auditor uses the Merit-Based Recruitment & Selection Plan to fill positions subject to the State Human Resources Act (SHRA) with highly qualified individuals.
