Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Security Guard to join our team at a leading national food manufacturer based in Poole Dorset. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong sense of responsibility and a commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment.
As a Security Guard you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of our premises employees and visitors. You will be part of a dynamic team working on a rotating shift pattern to provide 24/7 security coverage.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and control access to the premises ensuring only authorized personnel and vehicles enter.
- Conduct regular patrols of the site to identify and address any security risks or breaches.
- Respond promptly to alarms emergencies or incidents following established protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities incidents and irregularities such as equipment or property damage.
- Operate and monitor security systems including CCTV and alarm systems.
- Provide excellent customer service to employees visitors and contractors ensuring a professional and approachable demeanor at all times.
- Enforce company policies and procedures related to security and safety.
- Collaborate with management and other departments to address security concerns and implement improvements.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a security role is preferred but not essential.
- A valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) license is preferred but not essential.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and act decisively in high-pressure situations.
- Basic computer literacy for operating security systems and maintaining records.
- A proactive and professional attitude with a commitment to upholding high standards of security and safety.
Day-to-Day
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Conducting routine patrols of the premises to ensure all areas are secure.
- Monitoring CCTV footage and responding to any suspicious activity.
- Checking identification and logging visitors and contractors entering the site.
- Assisting with the enforcement of health and safety regulations.
- Reporting any incidents or irregularities to the appropriate personnel.
- Providing a visible security presence to deter unauthorised access or activities.
